Rebala is a thousand-year-old Tujia village that used to be the palace of the Tujia king. The Rebala Scenic Area is composed of Pengjiazhai and Rebala in Laochehe Village, as well as Liangjiazhai in Liangjia Village. With a unique geographical location and beautiful environment, it’s surrounded by mountains on all sides and has well-developed water systems. The Laoche and Dianfang rivers crisscross the villages.
The scenic area boasts many traditional Tujia buildings and cultural sites, and is also a filming location for many movies and TV dramas. The most distinctive is the Wind and Rain Bridge here, which is a three-way pavilion bridge that connects the three natural villages across the river, facilitating communication among people of the three places.
