Since its opening in 2022, Fenghuang Maglev Express has innovated its development ideas to create a comprehensive tourism brand that integrates “maglev transportation, tourism and leisure, cultural exhibitions, science popularization and study tours”, in a bid to promote the high-quality development of the industry.
In the deep winter season, the Fenghuang Maglev Express is still busy transporting tourists. A maglev train, running through the green mountains and valleys, integrates technology into the beautiful scenery of the ancient town. Besides, various new cultural and tourism scenes of “maglev technology and cultural beauty” surprise tourists, such as a sea of flowers in all seasons, colorful wall paintings, and the acousto-photoelectric tunnel.
In order to further enhance the experience of tourists, the immersive experience theater “Fenghuang Waiting” with a total investment of 60 million yuan is about to open during the Spring Festival. This theater is the first in the country to focus on theme trains to create an illusion that tourists seem to travel though time and space through various high-tech and multimedia means, allowing audiences to appreciate the cultural history, ethnic customs, and Red culture of Xiangxi Prefecture.
From July 2022 to December 2023, the Fenghuang Maglev Express carried a total of 1.4013 million passengers, including 277,000 passengers in 2022 and 1.1243 million passengers in 2023. It has also been approved as a study tour base for primary and secondary school students in Xiangxi Prefecture, as well as a national 3A-level scenic area.
