Xiangxi Prefecture issues consumption vouchers worth million yuan

On the evening of February 5, an activity to issue consumption vouchers kicked off in Majing’ao Town, Jishou City. The government of Xiangxi Prefecture will send out consumption vouchers worth one million yuan through the platform Douyin. The voucher is valid for three days. With the consumption vouchers, consumers can enjoy group purchase discounts from about 200 stores in the life service industries like catering, accommodation, tourism and sports, and related to nighttime economy consumption in Xiangxi Prefecture as well as full reduction subsidies of the government.
 
From February 5 to March 31, citizens can log in Douyin to search for “Xiangxi Night Carnival” and enter the main venue of the event to get consumption vouchers or grab the vouchers through such channels as merchants’ POI homepage, short videos and livestreaming rooms.
 
This activity is aimed at unleashing citizens’ consumption potential, creating a new mode of travel and innovative experience and promoting the high-quality development of nighttime economy in Xiangxi.

In recent years, Xiangxi Prefecture has held 12 key activities in various forms to boost consumption in urban and rural areas during various festivals throughout the year. From September 2022 to January 2023, the government of Xiangxi Prefecture and UnionPay jointly offered consumption vouchers worth nearly 10 million yuan, enhancing the fundamental role of market consumption in driving economic growth.
