The second Huayuan Tourism Development Conference as well as the 11th Hunan-Chongqing-Guizhou Border Area Dragon Boat Race was held at Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area in Huayuan County of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on June 21. Tourists from across the country and the local people around the border area gathered at Qingshui River to enjoy this exciting race.
Before the dragon boat race, the Miao people held a series of rituals to pray for good harvest and peace.
A total of 36 teams from Yi’en County of Hubei Province, Xiushan County of Chongqing City, Songtao County of Guizhou Province, Baojing County and Huayuan County of Hunan Province participated in this year’s dragon boat race, among which there were 24 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams.
