Huayuan County receives over 54.41 million yuan during Qingming Festival holiday

A continuous stream of tourists visited Huayuan County, Xiangxi Prefecture to appreciate the beauty of Miao villages, ancient towns and mountains during the three-day Qingming Festival holiday.

Huayuan saw a peak in tourism during the holiday, with 56,534 tourist trips made and over 54 million yuan generated, an increase of 162.94% and 171.02% respectively. Among them, the Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area ranked among the top ten popular A-level scenic spots in Hunan Province for the total number of tourists received during the holiday.

Biancheng Chadong is located at the junction of Hunan, Guizhou and Chongqing. It’s the place where the story of “Border Town” written by literary master Shen Congwen takes place. In this quaint and secluded border town, one can experience the story in Shen Congwen’s work, encounter the romance of the border town at night, and appreciate its beauty.

During the holiday, Shibadong Village, shrouded in clouds and mist, looked like a Chinese ink landscape painting. Tourists strolled on the green slabstones and saw the tremendous changes of the village.

The ancient and mysterious Gumiao River Baipu Grand Canyon Scenic Area has become a sacred place for many tourists to yearn for. Walking into the grand canyon, tourists can explore the secret of nature, and enjoy the cascading waterfalls.
