Since July, the Bamian Mountain Scenic Area in Longshan County of Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture has received 4,000 visitors per day. With the temperature rising in recent days, many tourists from other places have come to the Bamian Mountain to experience the cool summer, see the strange peaks and cliffs, and enjoy a sea of mist and clouds.
From July 18 to 19, the “Cool Longshan” tourism promotion activity was held in Rebala, Liye Ancient Town, Bamian Mountain, and Wulong Mountain Grand Canyon of Longshan County.
In recent years, relying on abundant cultural and tourism resources, Longshan County has developed a large number of tourist attractions such as the Bamian Mountain and made efforts to improve their infrastructure construction, appearance, connotations, and core competitiveness.
Rebala is an ancient Tujia village. The pavilion bridge located at the entrance of the village is 288 meters long, which is the largest and longest pavilion bridge in the world. On the bridge, the elderly in the village leaned against the railings to escape the heat and chat.
In the Laoche River under the Wind and Rain Bridge, a fierce duck catching competition was held. As dozens of ducks flew down from the Wind and Rain Bridge, villagers and tourists nearby eagerly swam forward. The ducks were quickly snatched up.
The caves of the Wulong Mountain Grand Canyon are like mysterious underground mazes. The Wulongshan Grand Canyon is known as the “World Cave Museum”, with fresh, cool and comfortable air inside the caves. Tourists stroll through the caves to enjoy the beautiful scenery inside while listening to tour guides tell the legendary stories about the caves.
Besides enjoying the beautiful scenery and the cool summer, tourists can also explore the thick Qin bamboo slips and feel the depth of history in Longshan County. At the Liye Qin Slips Museum, visitors can read the world’s earliest “Multiplication Table” and learn about the historical stories of the Qin Dynasty through over 37,000 bamboo slips.
